Aussie Beaches - everyone should visit at least one in their lifetime!

Beaches of Northern Territory

- Australian Beaches -

  • The Northern Territory Coastline, which is home to the majority of the Beaches of Northern Territory, is unique to the overall coastline of Australia. You will be unlikely to find sunbathers or lifeguards on golden sands nor surfers competing with the breakers. The Northern Territory is both wild and remote with some areas being difficult to access.
  • Its receives world wide visitors to revel in its untouched scenery, outstanding ecological bounty and spectacular fishing opportunities.
  • In simple terms - it is an ADVENTURE coast - full of thrills, danger and excitement.
  • Its coastline fronts the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
  • It is home to 887 islands, of which most are Aboriginal Land, as is most of the Mainland - please ensure the appropriate permissions are sought for specific areas.
  • Best time to visit is the Dry Season - April - October.
  • Swimming is not recommended in any part along the coastline, or even coastal estuaries due to ongoing presence of Crocodiles - year round or the box jelly fish during the Wet Season - October - April.
  • Fishing attracts world wide visitors, due to the fertile offshore waters and the abundance of marine life, specifically Barramundi living in the tidal waters.
  • Darwin - the Capital of the Northern Territory, is both the most populated city in the Northern Territory as well as being the smallest Capital City of Australia.
